  25. LaTeX is a completely separate package, *written entirely in TeX*.

  27. There is no "executable"; just ftp LaTeX2e from anywhere and follow the
  28. installation instructions (which means running TeX on certain files to produce
  29. the necessary TeX style files etc. that constitute the LaTeX installation).

  31. You can try any of the CTAN sites (which is for TeX what Aminet is for us, but
  32. not as large and well-organized) such as ftp.dante.de, ftp.tex.ac.uk and
  33. pip.shsu.edu.  Look in the directory "tex-archive".

  35. Most TeX distributions probably come with LaTeX2e preinstalled though.
  36. Installing everything yourself is extremely tedious for Amiga standards but
  37. you'll end up knowing a whole lot more about what all those files and
  38. directories are good for (and which ones you can or can't do without).
