-
- LaTeX is a completely separate package, *written entirely in TeX*.
-
- There is no "executable"; just ftp LaTeX2e from anywhere and follow the
- installation instructions (which means running TeX on certain files to produce
- the necessary TeX style files etc. that constitute the LaTeX installation).
-
- You can try any of the CTAN sites (which is for TeX what Aminet is for us, but
- not as large and well-organized) such as ftp.dante.de, ftp.tex.ac.uk and
- pip.shsu.edu. Look in the directory "tex-archive".
-
- Most TeX distributions probably come with LaTeX2e preinstalled though.
- Installing everything yourself is extremely tedious for Amiga standards but
- you'll end up knowing a whole lot more about what all those files and
- directories are good for (and which ones you can or can't do without).
